Accessability
The front entrance to Rose Cottage is approached over a short garden path, with 2 steps to the Entrance Hall. Once inside, there are no further steps on the ground floor.
From the Hall, the Georgian Staircase leads to the first floor. The staircase is turned and is not suitable for severely disabled guests.
The Briar Suite is all on one level with the First Floor Landing. The West Suite is approached from a further Landing Area with one step. Once inside the West Suite, there is a step down into the En Suite Dressing Room/Shower Room. There is also a step down to the Tea/Coffee making area.
Alfriston is served by local buses giving access to Lewes/Brighton, Seaford and Eastbourne.
Our closest Railway Station is at Berwick (7 mins. drive). There are also Railway Stations at Lewes, Polegate and Seaford. The journey to London via a train from Berwick takes approximately 2 hours.
There is a local Taxi Service and we also offer to transport our guests to Railway Stations, Glyndebourne Opera House, etc. by prior notice.
For those with a car, the coast at Seaford and Cuckmere Haven can be reached within a 15 minute drive. Eastbourne is approximately half an hours drive away, while Lewes can be reached within a 20 minute drive. The Downland Villages of Firle and Glyndebourne are also only 20 minutes drive away.
