ABOUT ROSE COTTAGE

Hazel and Arthur Dalgleish have restored and refurbished Rose Cottage, which they purchased in 1999 in a derelict condition. Built in 1776 it is a Georgian property and called Rose Cottage since that time, but is thought to have earlier origins. It has a mostly flint walled garden from which there are views to the downs. Arthur has overseen the restoration of the property and all repairs have been carried out using only traditional materials. The rebuilding of a barn attached to the property on the rear elevation now provides a beamed guest's sitting room with vaulted ceiling and views of the garden and Downs beyond.

A warm welcome is guaranteed by Hazel and Arthur to their family home which provides attractive and comfortable spacious accommodation for those visiting the wonderful village of Alfriston, one of the best preserved medieval villages in England. For dining out at night there are many choices, as Alfriston is well known for the number of Hotels, Pubs and Restaurants it offers and these are only a short walk away. There is no need to drive once in the village.

Private parking & secure cycle storage available.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
